Dr-Ing. Axel Kraft

Keynote Address “ A new Catalytic Technology for Biodiesel Applying Affordable Organic Catalysts”
Dr-Ing. Axel Kraft studied chemistry and chemical technology at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany and obtained his Master Degree in Chemical Technology. By education he is an expert in the field of catalytic process technology and catalyst development.
He started his professional career at Akzo Nobel in Germany, where he was working for central research on the process development of novel catalytic processes. After 4 years he was expatriated for 3 years to the US, where he was working for the business unit surfactants and flame retardents in different functions for process development and scale-up.

Dr. Lenn Gomes

Dr. Lenn Gomes is Head of the Research & Development Department POIC Sabah, Senior Representative to BIMP-EAGA (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines – East ASEAN Growth Area). He holds a PhD degree from Florida International University in Miami specializing in business strategy and international business, MBA from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand.


Mr. Joseph Lim

Mr. Joseph Lim started his business by marketing Dried Long Fiber (DLF) to China 10 years ago. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Global Green Synergy Sdn Bhd (GGS). GGS has invested in R&D for advancement technology on palm-based biomass, converting oil palm waste into value-added products and is today, the largest producer and exporter of DLF from palm residue in Malaysia. In 2009, Mr. Joseph Lim brought GGS and went into a joint-venture project with Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB) to establish the Palm Bio-Briquette R&D Plant.


Dr. Yeong Li-Sen

Dr. Yeong Li-Sen is Chief Technical Officer of BioSmart Instant-Compost Technology (ICT) and he is the co-owner (patent owner) of the invention of “Instant-Compost Technology System, a proven and effective way to produce organic fertilizer and bio-chemo fertilizer. ICT is able to produce organic or bio-chemo fertilizer within 1 hour using the special design system.

Dr. Young was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Biology in Pennsylvania State University in year 2005. Before this, he obtained his PhD in Plant Breeding & Plant Genetics Program from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Mr. Abner Johan Silalahi

Mr. Abner Johan Silalahi is the Head of Analytical Laboratory & Aerated Bunker Compost Project, Sumatra Bioscience, Bah Lias Research Station. Medan, Indonesia. He is the Senior Chemist and is responsible for analytical work to provide oil palm fertilizer recommendations for the Indonesian oil palm industry. He is a SSi 1st Graduate from North Sumatra University, Indonesia.
